Case Description
I went to the dentist after a really bad sinus infection that left my bottom right teeth beyond tender, and I was told that I had an abcess that is under a very deep filling that I received in 12/05. The dentist mentioned antibiotics but I was still on the "Z-pack" (Zythromycin) from the sinus infection. So he did not prescribe me any more. However is this antibiotic effective on dental infections? I am scheduled for a root canal on Monday July 30, 2007. However I am left to endure the extreme pressure and pain. I take 4 Ibps every 8 hrs and the dentist prescribed me Tylenol3 the other day, but with a young child at home, I can not chance being out of sorts like that. My concern is my neck is tender and its making my shoulder tender. Is this normal?? Should I seek emergency medical attention???

Are You This Patient?
When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description,
special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more
reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors.
Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.
